Mugging for the mug shot. Be prepared.

One of my favorite “guilty pleasures” is browsing The Smoking Gun web site, specifically the fascinating collection of mug shots.

I am continually amazed that so many people look so bad in their photo. I will stipulate that they are normally, a) drunk or drugged, or b) angry out of their mind about being arrested, however, doesn’t anyone smile for the camera any more?

I pledge that this will never happen to me should I be arrested. I like to practice my “look” from time to time for how I intend to pose for the complimentary pokey photograph.

I say get your money’s worth. Smile. Show confidence. Look right into the lens and dare the camera to capture your bad side.

If I’m ever arrested, I guarantee you that my mug shot will be worthy of a Christmas card.
