Clinton defenders defect with disturbed disillusionment.
Democrats, like kittens, are apparently born with their eyes closed. On average, a newborn kitten’s eyes will open in 8 to 14 days. Based on recent observations, some Democrats clearly take far longer to open their eyes to the world—years longer.
In recents weeks and month, you didn’t have to be an Indian with your ear to the ground to detect the ever-increasing stampede of former Clinton supporters—Bill and Hillary—fleeing the Clinton dynasty camp with wide-eyed disillusionment.
“I used to like Bill, but no more.” “I can’t believe I actually liked them at one time.” “I’m a woman and a Democrat and a former Clinton supporter, but I won’t vote for her…” “I voted for him in the past but he has turned me off voting for her this election.”
So what has changed with the Clintons to cause such a air-sucking dash for the door among heretofore loyal supporters? Nothing actually. This is exactly the same politically calculating, cunning, and clever power-mad couple who once occupied the famous residence found at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for eight years during the ’90s—and now wants to move back in before enough voters come to their senses.
To my knowledge, space aliens have not somehow switched out evil-minded replicants for the real Clintons in an attempt to take over our planet. Nor has Bill or Hillary undergone any type of mind-altering shock therapy since this election campaign began. He is still the same ol’ “Slick Willie” and she remains the repugnantly resolute “Habitual Hillary”—and both retain their inherent political talent for doing or saying whatever it takes to win. Nothing new here.
But for some, what they see today, is not what they thought they saw B.O. (before Obama). Only now has a surprising segment of Democrat and Independent voters managed to shed their rose-colored glasses and begun to see the light. And they are a tad bit uneasy and dismayed and oddly becoming oh so eager to eradicate the Clintons from the political scene as soon as possible.
Apparently, with enlightenment, comes the ability to forget the lessons learned from the past and the desire to delve back into unbridled loyalty for the next smooth-talking, politically pandering politican to step onto the presidential primary stage.
Otherwise, one would have to surmise that those same voters who so staunchly and vehemently defended the Clintons at every ugly turn previously but have now jumped ship to sail on the newer and shinier Obama oceanliner, were simply stomaching the Clintons out of life-long, blind party loyalty and baseless irrational fear of ever voting Republican.
Either way, you cannot help but wonder how many of those newfound Obamafiles might again find themselves scratching their heads and wringing their hands, wrought with buyer’s remorse if Barack Obama is elected as the next president and turns out to be not much more than just another ear-pleasing politician who talks a good game but is in it for self-interest and not the best interests of we the people.

I was one of those Bill Clinton supporters thru it all. I was for Hillary in the beginnning (I am female) then the personal attacks started “empty suit” “blank screen” . I started to take a closer look and realized I was going to vote for a return of Bill but his name was not on the ballot.
So I changed my mind in the voting booth. Now I am so glad that I did. My family will not let me forget that I was going to vote for Hillary.
Also with some of the things that Bill has said on the stump, I feel mislead. I am ashamed that I supported him in the past.
One has to wonder why Richardson, McPeak and Morris are not with them. Why did Lewis change his support. There is even more there that I do not know about.
I caught up with your blog after being on the road for several days en route to the front lines down here in South Florida. My parents told me to watch out for the sniper fire along I-95 and to change lanes frequently as I approached any off-ramp. Then, much to my disappointment, the welcoming ceremonies planned for me had to be cancelled because of the dangerous situation here.
Fortunately, Sinbad, my co-pilot, had my back and kept me in stitches all the way with his bad-ass “humor.” What a funny guy!
The worst insult was learning on Good Friday that Judas, aka Bill Richardson, had sold his soul to Barack Obama, who of course is the devil and probably a charter member of Al Quida. Never trust a guy with a beard or a Harvard-educated lawyer.
How could anyone ditch the Clintons. They are entitled to whatever they want, aren’t they?
Dear Ray:
I remember reading your post under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of greeting committee but instead I just ran with my head down to my car… Oh, wait, no, that was Hillary that mis-remembered what happened.
I, on the other hand, remember the Clinton years all too vividly. That’s why I wouldn’t vote for her for dog catcher, much less for president!
